Background:
Randomised controlled trials (RCTs) have provided considerable evidence for the short-term efficacy of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) in children and adolescents with depressive and anxiety disorders. However, the effectiveness and long-term stability of treatment effects under routine care conditions remain unproven.
Aims:This observational study investigates the effectiveness and stability of CBT under routine care conditions within a large sample of clinically referred youth with depressive and anxiety disorders.
Method:Two hundred and twenty former patients (age 6–18 years at start of treatment) underwent a follow-up assessment (follow-up interval: M=5.3 years, SD=2.47). Parent and self-ratings of behavioural and emotional problems were obtained at the beginning and end of treatment and at follow-up. Additionally, at follow-up, a telephone interview and questionnaires exploring other mental symptoms and life satisfaction were administered.
Results:A repeated measures ANOVA yielded statistically significant, medium to large pre– post symptom reductions (ηp 2=.15 to ηp²=.47) and small to medium post-follow-up symptom reductions (ηp²=.03 to ηp²=.19). At follow-up, between 57 and 70% of the sample reported a decrease in different emotional symptoms since the end of treatment, and 80% reported improved life satisfaction.
Conclusions:These findings provide evidence for the effectiveness and stability of treatment effects of CBT in youth with depressive and anxiety disorders under routine care conditions. Due to the lack of a direct control condition and a substantial proportion of missing data, the results must be interpreted with caution.

This paper introduces and analyzes a new form of contingent convertible: a call option enhanced reverse convertible (COERC). If an issuing bank’s market value of capital breaches a trigger, COERCs convert to many new equity shares that would heavily dilute existing shareholders, except that shareholders have the option to purchase these shares at the bond’s par value. COERCs have low risk: They are almost always fully repaid in cash. Yet, they reduce government bailouts by replenishing a bank’s capital. COERCs’ design also avoids problems with market-value triggers, such as manipulation or panic, while reducing moral hazard and debt overhang.

Various passages in the Paralipomena Jeremiae, a writing largely neglected by NT scholarship so far, may shed further light on the background in early Judaism of the theological terminology of the NT. This is exemplified below: ευαγγελιζεσθαι is seen to stand for the preaching of eschatological salvation, κατηχειν for catechetical instruction, αναπαυσις for the quiet between death and resurrection, the ‘Jerusalem above’ for the eventual place of salvation, ‘tent’ and ‘fleshly house’ for the mortal body. ‘Steward’ is employed metaphorically; the metaphor of fragance and light symbolism are used. A certain interpretation of the site mentioned at Mk 15.21 is confirmed also.

Machine parts like rolling bearings or gears are stressed during operation in a changing mechanical strain. This causes wear by impacts and wear by rolling which is marked by the so called surface ruin. The appearance of surface fatigue is based upon structural transformation, cracking and cracking-growth processes and ends with the separation of debris particles caused by the above mentioned permanent changing strain /1/. The final stage, which is equivalent to the component failure, is the so called ‘pitting’ on the technical surface, which is characteristically named ‘surface fatigue’.
The impact tester is used for detailed research about failure mechanisms of thin films. Statements about the adherence of hard material coatings under dynamic compressive stress can be made using this test method, due to the possibility to simulate some effects of rolling strain. Therefore a hard metal ball strikes with a frequency of up to 50 Hz onto the surface. The altitude stress can be varied to get a detailed evaluation of fatigue strength under reversal strain.
Selected hard material coatings were analized after testing with the described method applying an impact force of 300 N, 500 N and 700 N. In the framework of this presentation MSIP (Magnetron-Sputter-lon-Plating) coatings on titanium- and chromium basis were used. The fatigue defects and the results of this study will be discussed depending on structure and morphology of thin films.
